Alexia Karon Holden, age 19 of Nixa, passed away October 27, 2021. She was born September 20, 2002 in Springfield, the daughter of Scott and Michelle (McMurtrey) Holden.
Alexia was a student at Missouri State University, majoring in elementary education. She brought so much love & joy to our lives and all those who were around her. She had such a big loving heart and cared deeply for her family and friends, always there to give advice, encouraging and supporting others. Anyone who knew Alexia knew how much she loved creating and posting videos. She loved the outdoors, hiking, swimming at the lake and vacationing at the beach.
Alexia met her boyfriend Garrett while they were in junior high and started dating in their sophomore year. Afterwards they spent most of their time together. She was always up for an adventure, whether it was rock climbing, hiking or traveling. She was continually looking for a new experience. Sweet, caring, gentle, and loving are just a few words to describe her personality. Beautiful, resilient, and tough, she faced all challenges in her life head on. Alexia brought joy and laughter wherever she went. Her selflessness will continue to bring joy and hope to other’s lives through her decision to be an organ donor.
Alexia will be missed every day by her parents, Scott and Michelle Holden of Nixa; her brother, Jack Holden of Nixa; her grandparents, Gerald and Opal McMurtrey of Hollister and Kent Holden of Golden; her uncle and aunt, Greg and Missy McMurtrey; cousins, Ashley and Justin McMurtrey and Riley and Conner Holden; her boyfriend, Garrett Whitman; and her great grandmother Granny Dee.
