Alene McHaffie Smith

Alene (McHaffie) Smith, age 89 of Bruner, died September 19, 2020. She was born April 12, 1931, the daughter of Hobson and Evelyn (Braden) McHaffie. On March 4, 1950, she and Loyed Smith were united in marriage. Loyed preceded Alene in death on January 13, 2008. Alene had worked at FASCO Industries before her retirement. Alene had also worked at Riverside Inn for many years. She enjoyed quilting. Survivors include: six children, Jerry Smith and wife Sandy of Ozark, Noel Smith and wife Donna of Bruner, Glenda Cobb and husband Dwight of Bruner, Melvin Smith and wife Andrea of Sparta, Deanna Patterson and husband Bob of Bruner and Vickie Thomas of Bruner; her sisters, Pat Holmes of Ozark and Kay Swearengin of Sparta; and many grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Alene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loyed Smith; a granddaughter, Angel Osborn; and a sister, Rachel. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in Bruner Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dr. Wade Bridges officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 - 3:00 P.M. immediately before the graveside service in Bruner Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects to Alene from 10 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. in funeral home before the graveside service at the cemetery Wednesday.
