Alan Dale Degginger, age 57, of Billings, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015. He was born July 12, 1957 to William and Nancy (Puckett) Degginger, in Joplin. Alan and his family moved to Springfield in 1970, where he graduated from Central High School in 1975. Alan loved music and played in the Central High School marching and jazz bands. He loved playing the trumpet and also played the piano, french horn, and saxophone. His family describes him as a very happy person and was always smiling, even when he was in great pain with his illness. Alan worked nights at Wal-Mart on South Campbell in Springfield as a custodian. He enjoyed his work and had many friends there.
Alan is survived by his siblings Robert Degginger, and his wife Vickie, of Columbiana, AL, and Patricia Barker, of Billings; a sister-in-law Bonnie Degginger, of Tulsa, OK; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Steve Degginger; and a brother-in-law Paul Barker.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at Wise Hill Cemetery, Clever.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Oxford Hospice, Springfield.
