Abigail Francis Phillips age 78, of Ozark, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. She was born June 14, 1936 in Hiawatha, KS, and was raised in Sabetha, KS. On August 22, 1953 she and Richard Lawrence Phillips were married. Abigail was a dedicated Navy wife, and was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and was often referred to as "Betty Crocker" for the wonderful meals she prepared for her family.
Abigail had been an active member of Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved to play cards and enjoyed quilting. She liked to laugh and have fun, and in earlier years she and Richard were members of a square dancing club.
Survivors include: four children, Vicki Cormier and husband Craig of Surfside Beach, SC, Rick Phillips and wife Joan of Omaha, NE, Kevin Phillips and wife Candy of Nixa, MO, and Angela Harrison and husband Matt of Ft. Gibson, OK; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Marvin White and wife Aleda, and Merlin White and wife Shirley, all of St. Joseph, MO.
Her husband, Richard, preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by a brother Leland White, and a sister Marjorie Anderson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 10, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, MO, with Elder Bob Chambers officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery alongside her husband on Monday.
